Vasavi Khatalia New Testament (VASWIN)
Overview
The Vasavi Khatalia New Testament is a Scripture translation targeting speakers of the Khatalia (Khataliya) dialect of the Vasavi language, produced by Wycliffe India. Vasavi, also known as Vasava Bhil, is one of the larger Bhil tribal languages of western India. The Khatalia dialect is one of several regional varieties of Vasavi, spoken primarily in the Bharuch–Narmada corridor of Gujarat. This translation provides dialect-specific access to Scripture for a community that was previously served primarily by resources in related regional languages. Audio resources including the JESUS Film and the Gospel of Luke video have also been produced in Vasavi. No complete Bible in Vasavi has been reported.
