Vidunda New Testament (VIDWFW)

Overview

The Vidunda New Testament was published in 2014 by Pioneer Bible Translators as the first Scripture in the Vidunda language, spoken by approximately 12,000 people in the mountains of Tanzania's Morogoro Region — one of the smallest language communities in the PBT/TWFTW cluster project. [1] Michael Barton serves as translation facilitator for Vidunda, working with three national translators who were trained by The Word for the World. [2] It was part of a cluster of ten Tanzanian translation projects launched between 2006 and 2007. [1] Scripture portions appeared between 2009 and 2012 ahead of the completed New Testament, and later Old Testament translation has continued in partnership with the Seed Company.
