Overview

This is the New Testament in the Vitu language (ISO 639-3: wiv), spoken by the Vitu people of Papua New Guinea. The translation was published by Wycliffe Bijbelvertalers Nederland (Wycliffe Bible Translators Netherlands). The Vitu people number approximately 24,000 and inhabit the Vitu and Mudua islands in West New Britain Province, Talasea district. [1] Bible portions in Vitu were first made available in 2001, and the New Testament was completed in 2019. [1] A complete Bible translation has not yet been produced. [1] Christianity is the predominant religion among the Vitu, with approximately 99% adherence. [1]
