Waris Bible (WRSPNG)
Overview
Genesis, Ruth, Jonah, and the New Testament in the Waris language — also called Walsa — of Papua New Guinea, published by Wycliffe Bible Translators. Waris is a Border language of the Bewani Range / Bapi River grouping, spoken by about 2,500 people in Sandaun Province and a further 1,500 across the border in Keerom Regency, Papua, Indonesia. The language was documented by Robert Brown, who published linguistic work on Waris semantics and grammar in the 1980s, including a dictionary compiled with Honoratus Wai.
