Kagoro New Testament — Harvest Seekers Edition (XKGDHS)
Overview
The Kagoro New Testament is a Scripture translation in the Kagoro (Gworok) language of Kaduna State, Nigeria, distributed by Harvest Seekers. Kagoro (also called Gworok) is part of the Tyap language cluster spoken by the Aegworok people of southern Kaduna. The community's long association with Christianity — Kagoro was one of the earliest towns in northern Nigeria to embrace the faith — makes this Scripture translation a significant resource for mother-tongue worship and discipleship.
Language and People
Kagoro (ISO 639-3: xkg), known natively as Gworok, is spoken in the Kagoro chiefdom of Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State, north-central Nigeria. The Aegworok (Kagoro people) occupy the highland area of southern Kaduna and have a well-developed oral tradition. The language is closely related to Tyap and other languages of the Plateau branch of the Niger-Congo family. Gworok is used in ceremonies, oral histories, and daily conversation across the Kagoro hills community.
