Yessan-Mayo Yamano New Testament (YSSYYV)

Overview

The New Testament in the Yamano dialect of Yessan-Mayo, a Papuan language of the Sepik family, was published in 1980 by Lutheran Bible Translators, with a revised edition copyrighted in 2004. The translation was dedicated on November 1, 1980, with the community inviting supporters to a celebration and feast. [1] Later Scripture portions were published in the 1990s and 2000s. The Yessan-Mayo people live in East Sepik and Sandaun provinces of Papua New Guinea, in approximately ten villages south of the Mehek area. [2] The Scriptures are distributed through SIL's Scripture Earth platform in print, audio, and digital formats.
