Mitla Zapotec New Testament (ZAWMVR)

Overview

The Mitla Zapotec New Testament was first published in 1981, with a revised edition completed in 2006. The translation is the work of Morris Stubblefield and Carol Miller de Stubblefield, SIL linguists who conducted extensive language documentation in San Pablo Villa de Mitla, east of Oaxaca City. [1] The Stubblefields also produced a Zapotec dictionary (1991) and a collection of Mitla Zapotec texts (1995). [2] Mitla hosts a major Wycliffe/SIL translation center where translators live in villages to study the language and culture, then work at the center with native language helpers on translations.
