Mansi New Testament — Language Developers and Bible Translators (ZNSLDB)

Overview

The Mansi New Testament is a Scripture translation in the Mansi language of Nigeria, produced by the Language Developers and Bible Translators Association (LDBT) of Nigeria. LDBT is a registered Nigerian organization established in 2015 to continue and expand Bible translation and language development work in the minority languages of Bauchi and surrounding states following the conclusion of earlier projects by Luke Partnership International. The Mansi translation is available in audio format. [1]

Language and People

Mansi (ISO 639-3: zns) is a language of Nigeria, also known as Mangas, spoken in the north-central region of the country. It is listed in the Joshua Project database under the Mansi (Nigeria) designation to distinguish it from the unrelated Mansi language of Siberia (Russia). The language has a limited online presence, reflecting the reality that many smaller Nigerian languages remain under-documented in international databases. Audio evangelism resources in Mansi are also available through the Global Recordings Network. [2]

Translation and Publisher

The Language Developers and Bible Translators Association (LDBT Nigeria) was formally registered on August 8, 2015 under Corporate Affairs Commission Registration No. 8024. The organization was founded by Ahmed Madiya Usman and Joseph Goje following the conclusion of Luke Partnership International's initial translation projects in Bauchi State, which had begun in 2006. LDBT's work encompasses translation training, consultant checking workshops, orthography development, and Oral Bible Storytelling programs for multiple Nigerian languages. The Mansi translation for Bible.is is one of several LDBT language projects. [1]
