Languages:

Botswana is a multilingual country with English and Setswana being the official languages. Setswana is the most widely spoken language, with approximately 78% of the population speaking it as their first language. English is used in government, education, and business and is spoken by a significant portion of the population. Additionally, there are also small communities of speakers of other indigenous languages, such as Kalanga, Shekgalagari, and Khoisan. The literacy rate in Botswana is around 88% for youth and young adults, but it drops to around 60% for adults over 65 years old.

Religion:

Botswana is a religiously diverse country, with no official religion. The majority of the population identifies as Christian, with approximately 71% of the population belonging to various Protestant denominations, such as the Methodist Church, the Anglican Church, and the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa. Other Christian denominations, such as Roman Catholicism and Seventh-day Adventism, are also present in smaller numbers. There are also small communities of Muslims, Hindus, and non-religious people. The constitution of Botswana guarantees religious freedom to all citizens, and the government generally respects this right.
