Mandarin Chinese Bible (CMNBBT)

Overview

The Boulton-Baller Translation (包爾騰-柏漢理譯本) is a historic Mandarin Chinese New Testament in classical/literary Chinese (wenli style), written in Traditional Chinese characters. Frederick William Baller (1852-1922) was a prominent British China Inland Mission (CIM) missionary, linguist, and sinologist who arrived in China in 1873. [1] He authored "An Analytical Vocabulary of the New Testament" and served on the Union Mandarin Bible Revision Committee (1900-1918). This translation uses archaic classical Chinese phrasing and appears to be a public-domain historic text.
