Overview

This 1876 edition contains the Book of Isaiah in two parts, translated into Ottoman Turkish. The publication date falls within the period when William Schauffler and a joint revision committee of the British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) and American Bible Society (ABS) were actively producing and revising Ottoman Turkish Scripture [1][2]. Schauffler had completed his own translation of Isaiah as part of his broader Old Testament work following his 1866 New Testament and 1867 Psalms [1].
