Yemen

Yemen, officially the Republic of Yemen, is a country located on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. It shares borders with Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the northeast, and has coastlines along the Red Sea to the west and the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea to the south. Covering an area of approximately 527,970 square kilometers, Yemen has a population of about 30 million people as of 2023. The capital and largest city is Sana'a. The official language is Arabic. Yemen operates as a republic with a semi-presidential system. The economy is one of the poorest in the Middle East, primarily based on agriculture, oil, and remittances. Yemen is known for its rich history, diverse culture, and unique architecture, including ancient mud-brick skyscrapers in Shibam. However, the country has been facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to ongoing conflicts and political instability. Yemen is a member of international organizations such as the United Nations, the Arab League, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
